POETRY
Lonely? How? I Wonder.
A poem of wondering
Lonely,
You say,
As I ask how you are?
Lonely? How? I wonder.
Five friends at your finger,
Two at call, and one in your heart,
How lonely, you are.
I laugh. I’m highly offended.
Loneliness is just not a feeling,
It slowly becomes a lifestyle,
Day by day, as people leave,
When you had just two to start with.
Then one day you cry,
To the walls and vent out,
Hug the cold surface,
As it feels familiar,
To the hearts you loved.
Lonely,
I say, I am,
But not you,
You’re just ungrateful,
Look around, look around,
There are three to make you laugh,
A bunch of others to drink with,
The one to listen to your stories,
How lonely you are, I wonder.
But Yes,
Lonely I am,
The scaling on the wall,
Have become far too many,
Falling apart from all my tears.
I wonder,
How long they’ll last,
As long as all the people
Did I love before??
